Carrot peas recipe (Gajar mattar ki sabzi)

Today we will make a delicious recipe that Gajar mattar ki sabzi.

Gajar mattar ki sabzi :
Cooking time: 40 minutes 
Servings: 4-5 persons 
Utensils used:
    1 frypan or pot or Karahi 
    1 ladle
    1 teaspoon 
    1 tablespoon 
Ingredients:
  1. Carrot ( gajar ): 500 gm
  2. Peas ( mattar ) : 200 gm
  3. Refined oil: 2 ladles
  4. Asafetida ( hing) : 1 pinch 
  5. Cumin seeds ( jeera): 1/2 tablespoon 
  6. Green chillies ( hari mirch) : 2 finely chopped 
  7. Garlic : 6 pieces finely chopped  or paste 
  8. Ginger: 1 tablespoon finely chopped or paste 
  9. Onion : 1/2 finely chopped or paste 
  10. Tomato : 2 finely chopped or paste 
  11. Coriander (dhaniya) powder : 1 tablespoon
  12. Turmeric ( haldi) powder : 1/2 teaspoon 
  13. Red chilli ( lal mirch) powder : 1/2 teaspoon 
  14. Kashmiri red chilli powder : 1/2 teaspoon 
  15. Black pepper ( kali mirch) powder: 1/2 teaspoon 
  16. Garam masala powder: 1/2 tablespoon
  17. Salt : according to your taste 
  18. Fresh coriander: 1 tablespoon finely chopped 
Pre-Preparation:
  • Wash and Peel off carrots and cut their top and bottoms.Make small lices of nearly 1 cm.
  • Peel off peas.
Procedure:
  • Pour 2 ladles  refined oil into  frypan on medium flame.  When oil becomes hot,  add 1 pinch hing ,  1/2 tablespoon jeera  , 8 pieces finely chopped garlic,  1/2 tablespoon finely chopped ginger,  1/2 onion finely chopped and 2 finely chopped tomatoes or paste.Saute for 5 minutes on medium flame.  Add 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder,  1/2 teaspoon Kashmiri red chilli powder,  1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder,  1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder,  1 tablespoon coriander powder and 2 finely chopped green chillies. Saute for 5 minutes. 
  • Now, add carrots and peas in it. Cover with lid for nearly  25 minutes or until carrots and peas become soft.  In between keep checking if recipe starts getting sticky then add 1-2 tablespoons of water. So, recipe is ready. Add 1/2 tablespoon garam masala powder and 1 tablespoon fresh coriander for garnishing.  Recipe is ready to serve.
